Jerrianne Templo

Jerrianne “Jerah” Templo is best known for being coached by Charice in the X-Factor Philippines which wasn’t something new to Jerah.

Egged on by her father, she’s been at it since she was just four years old back in Camaligan, Camarines Sur. In 2004, when she was just 12 years old, she already knew that singing professionally was to be her career when she made it all the way to the grand finals of the Regine Velasquez-hosted GMA 7 talent show, Search For A Star. Three years later, she won the 2007 Select A Star Singing Contest on DZME Radio and the World Of Fun Singing Contest the following year.

After a year of touring Southeast Asia as part of the Coro Cantabile of Masters Chorus in 2009, our intrepid singer tried out and reached the grand finals of the Diz Is It Kantahan talent show on GMA 7 in 2010, and the finals of Project Lotus, a talent search for members of the first Pan-Asia girl band.

After a short stint doing vocal chores for various entertainment bands including Jericho Aguilar’s Anak band, she formed the Jerah Templo acoustic and full band in 2011, performing soul, R&B and pop tunes at the Salon de Ning at the Manila Peninsula and at various corporate events. That year, she also recorded nine songs on the house remix album “Dirty Party” for LD&K Records Japan.

At this stage of her singing career, Jerah is still largely in search of an identity. Unfortunately for her, she never got to show what she can really do on X-Factor Philippines; unable to sing the songs that she wanted.

“My singing style is soulful, I have a big powerful voice, not the high voice. If I could choose my future as an artist I would like to be known as a fierce and soulful singer.

I am really a solo singer, but I have a very big passion for live music and, together with my former band-mate, Pinoy Idol finalist Walton Zerrudo, I just formed a new band, JERAH meets WEST. We are music lovers and don’t want to stick with one genre or to be put into one category. It is the feeling of being free as artists; to entertain different crowds and to have fun on stage ourselves are the things that are important. We play everything from Retro, Blues, Rock, but mainly we do Soul, RnB and Pop. I am still working on, or better to say hoping, that I find the right person or company that has enough trust in my talent and give me the chance for a break in the industry as a solo artist.”
